Solar Safari is a solar eclipse experience for around Little Rock, Arkansas. This event was April 8th, 2024 and was created to spread awareness and boost excitement for the solar eclipse. The event takes participants to 5 spots around the city. The activities around each spot teach about the history art and science around Little Rock and the solar eclipse. The end of the activity will lead participants to the Little Rock Zoo for a solar eclipse watch party.
I worked in a group with Caroline Hill and Olivia Henry.
Branding
For the branding of this event we chose bright colors that would pop off a page and be interesting to young children and parents who would be participating. Throughout components of the brand, there are multiple characters that represent animals found in the zoo and the 5 stops along the experience route. Each animal is wearing solar glasses which promotes safety throughout the eclipse.

Promotion
For the poster we utilized out animal elements and bright colors to create an eye-catching event poster.
We created a social media save the date carousel post that gets therein info about the event out to potential participants.
The event brochure would be handed out at daily the first location on the route but there would be some and all locations. This contains information such as the route, all the stops and activities, some information about the science behind a solar eclipse, and some basic safety guidelines to follow on the day of the eclipse.

UX/UI
The event has both a website and mobile app that will lead viewers around during the day, give then live upd
Event Merchandising
Participant will receive their eclipse passport where they will get a stamp of completion at each stop. At the end of the event a completed passport will give them free entry into the zoo for the viewing party. Without the passport completed people can still purchase tickets to the zoo, however the free ticket is an incentive to participate in the activity and learn more about Little Rock.
Additional merchandising includes stuffed animal plushies and keychains with branded shirts, stickers handed out at each location, and a branded bus that takes participants around from stop to stop. Providing a mode of transportation eliminates stress of finding parking at each location and helps avoid too much walking and becoming sleepy before the eclipse.
