For this project I created a brand of juice boxes called Sea Spray. This packaging is a specialty design in collaboration with a previous project, Exploring English Seas. This design was created to teach kids something new and exciting while also giving them the nutrients they need to learn and grow. The set depicts a timeline of british vessels and the back shows kids how they can make their own. This product will be sent to schools in low income locations at etremely discounted or free prices.
Sketches
When sketching, it was important to create a visual image that reflected Sea Spray. This package was created in collaboration with Exploring English Seas, an interactive installation who's goal is to teach kids about the evolution of English ship building. This image was designed to wrap the packaging in a never-ending cycle to compare to the never-ending cycle of learning.
Iterations
Moving from the first to second iterations, there was a major change in color which made the packaging more appealing and attractive to kids. It took emphasis away from the sky and brought it back to the boat featured on the packaging. When making edits for the third iteration, it was suggested that each boat and package should have a different flavor. To accomplish this visually, I altered the water and sky colors to reflect the flavor of the juice inside. This gives the audience a understanding of what they may be drinking without reading the package.
